Takuya Ashizaki – Abo Fisheries / Igetaya / Chemicle
Born into Abo Fisheries, a traditional fixed-net fishing family in Rausu, Takuya Ashizaki was expected to follow the legacy.
But that was never enough for him.
After graduating from Rakuno Gakuen
University, he spent years at Meiji Holdings studying chemical science, before returning home
to do more than just inherit—he reinvented. Today, Takuya runs not only the family business, but also two innovative ventures:
Igetaya, which develops high-value seafood products, and Chemicle, which
rethinks recycling in the fishing industry.
Takuya is all-in, body and mind. A former All-Hokkaido rugby player, he doesn’t just think big—he charges into action.
He also plays a key role in the management of Shiretoko National Park, a World Heritage site. But here’s what makes him different: he doesn’t see “growth” as the ultimate goal. Instead, he fights for balance—more tourism, yes, but never at the cost of the local ecosystem or the soul of the town he grew up in.
That’s why we call him an SDGs native—someone who lives and breathes sustainability without needing to wear the badge.
Takuya's story isn’t just about sustainability — it’s about redefining what progress means in a town shaped by nature, tradition, and resilience.

芦崎拓也 – 網元漁業 / イゲタヤ / ケミクル
北海道東部の町、羅臼で、芦崎拓也さんは「阿保水産」という、家族経営の定置網漁業の家に生まれました。
しかし、彼にとって、受け継ぐことだけでは十分ではありませんでした。
酪農学園大学を卒業した後、彼は明治ホールディングスで数年間、化学を学び、
その後、単に家業を継ぐためだけでなく、それを再構築するために地元へ戻ってきました。
現在、芦崎さんは三つの事業を運営しています。
土台となる「阿保水産」、高付加価値の水産加工品を開発するブランド「イゲタヤ」、
そして水産業における資源リサイクルを再考する「ケミクル」です。
芦崎さんは、その全てに本気で取り組んでいます。
かつて北海道選抜のラグビー選手だった彼は、大きく考えるだけでなく、実行に移す人なのです。
彼はまた、世界遺産である「知床国立公園」の管理にも中心的な役割を果たしています。
しかし、彼を特別な存在にしているのは、彼の哲学です。
彼は「成長」を究極の目標とは見ていません。
観光の拡大には前向きですが、それが地元の生態系や、彼が育った町の魂を損なうことがあってはならないと考えています。
だからこそ、私たちは彼を「SDGsネイティブ」と呼びます。
表現よりも実践を重んじているからです。
芦崎さんの物語は、単に持続可能性についてのものではありません。
それは、自然と伝統、そしてしなやかな強さによって形づくられた町において、「進歩」とは何かを再定義するものです。
